A Note from Shane & Erica
Our mission is to teach life skills through stage skills. As working professionals in this industry, theatre has shaped who we are. It is our passion to inspire and nurture both the artistic and personal growth of our students at the Arise Acting Studio. Our goal is for each student to develop a healthy sense of self-worth, have the courage to make mistakes and be prepared to go out into the world with the tools and the confidence to live truthfully and make their mark in the world.
About the Arise Acting Studio
The Arise Acting Studio is a studio for excellence in the theatrical arts. That means we foster an environment where excellence is the standard, not perfection.
Founded in 2009 by Erica and Shane Peterman, the Arise Acting Studio has established a reputation for providing a positive and professional environment in which young artists can grow and develop their craft. We offer a non-competitive atmosphere where the journey is celebrated—not the destination.

In search of a summer camp in 2012, we found the Arise Acting Studio and we haven’t turned back since! Our two daughters, ages 13 and 11, couldn’t be more different yet they each thrive in their own, unique way and look forward to their weekly classes and to the productions. The instructors are the kind of people you WANT in your children’s lives and it’s evident that they want the best for every child there. Yes, our kids are better singers, dancers and actors and it’s incredibly fun to see them on stage performing, but I know that their experience at the Arise Acting Studio is helping them mature into thoughtful, kind, compassionate and confident human beings. The friends we have made with the studio families are now some of our best friends. We absolutely love our studio!!
Dani consistently receives high praise for her acting from instructors in her highly competitive BFA college program. As a freshman in NYC, she already has had many exciting performance opportunities ranging from film to stage. Alex impressed her university with her ability to make the strangest scenes seem real, and is now putting the skill to good use touring the country as a working actor. We attribute the girls’ success to the superb acting training they received from the Arise Acting Studio and are thankful for the part the faculty played in shaping their lives and dreams.
The Arise Acting Studio has a been a safe and fun learning environment where my daughter has had the opportunity to experience the process of dedication, hard work, teamwork, and passion in the performing arts, particularly in musical theatre. She has also made great friendships and continues to grow in all aspects of performing arts from acting to singing. Abbie has enjoyed small and large roles in the Arise Acting Studio and no matter what the role, she always feels she is a very important part of the show. The dedication of the teachers and directors to quality, growth, respect and performance is what sets it apart from other studios.
